The Seat Arosa was introduced in the UK in September 1997. Using a variety of engines ranginging from the 1.0, 1.4 8V & 1.4 16V multi-point injection petrols to the 1.7 SDi diesel unit, and eventually switching to an all new 1.4 TDi diesel when the model changed in 2001.

Specification on the Seat Arosa was fairly generous with colour coded bumpers, bodystyle mouldings, tinted glass, power steering, with ABS as an option on the basic model, upto 14-inch alloy wheels, electric windows, remote central locking, leather steering and a host of other features on the 1.4 Sport.

At 11ft 8ins in length and 5ft 5ins wide, the Seat Arosa was in the supermini class and benefitted from a low insurance rating starting from 2E for the basic S, up to 5E for the Sport.
